This striking apartment is part of a 16-unit complex designed between 1926 and 1939 by R.M. Schindler, one of the forefathers of modern architecture. It is available for photo shoots only.

The Music Room is equipped with an Origin Acoustics 7.1 surround-sound speaker system with six recessed speakers and subwoofer, plus Paradigm soundbar. There is a high-end projector, hanging art installation system, professional-grade kitchen, large storage closet, wifi throughout, and Nest controlled heat and air.

In 2015, five of the apartment units underwent an extensive restoration. The goal of the restoration was to honor Schindler’s original design and intent while updating each space for how we live today. The original cabinetry, finishes, and Schindler-designed furniture were carefully researched and, wherever possible, restored or re-created.

It’s an inspiring space, with improbably high ceilings and a huge window overlooking the city beyond. The space retains its original character but has been updated to include a state-of-the-art sound system and projector, as well as a rail for hanging art. The furniture can be adapted to suit the requirements of each shoot. Additionally, there is a professional-grade kitchen.

The space can be rented on its own or with the addition of outside areas.

Designed by California landscape architecture firm Terremoto, the courtyard plantings in the outdoor spaces that lead to and from the Music Room are lush, with discrete seating areas in each courtyard.

Located in the heart of Silver Lake with stunning views of the iconic Hollywood sign and Griffith Observatory, you are within minutes from Sunset Junction and the Silver Lake Reservoir, and a plethora of renowned dining, shopping, and entertainment destinations. Eclectic, unique and fast becoming the hippest part of LA, the area is filled with vibrant culture and is a short drive to downtown, Los Feliz, Echo Park, and Hollywood.

The property is one third of a mile walk to the bi-weekly Silver Lake Farmers Market and weekly Flea Market and two miles from Griffith Park, one of the nation’s largest urban parks, providing a respite from the city with hiking trails, picnic areas, and cultural attractions. From the sprawling city limits and the coast, to the mountains and beyond, it’s a great central location to explore the City of Angels.
