A completely redesigned apartment in swanky Polanco, known for its elegant boutiques and leafy plazas, this vacation home rental in Mexico City was created as a playground for the senses. It’s a unique address in the well-heeled neighborhood, a delightful hideaway that favors kaleidoscopic décor and a style that’s vivid, funky and otherworldly.

The location’s chemistry between playful design and intentional comfort is what makes this creative escape exceptional. Two bedrooms are tranquil and artsy, furnished a little like art-therapy enclaves with pop pieces on the walls, retro objects accenting the décor, and cozy natural linens in soothing organic tones. Two and a half bathrooms keep the playfulness alive, set with out-of-the-box fixtures and pops of color.

A piano occupies one corner of the open-plan living room, and color bloc cubbies line walls or create dividers within a living space that's layered with rugs and decorated with textural accents, whimsical vintage finds, and contemporary art. The kitchen has ample space for realizing culinary inspirations as well as bar seating with views onto the patio. Stainless steel appliances are offset by a deep ebony sink and a one-of-a-kind Ettore Sottsass countertop that the owners shipped by boat from Chile. A breakfast nook off the kitchen presents a cool retro vibe from its spindle table and chrome dinette chairs, and the plant-lined flagstone patio features a bistro table, fun Adirondack rocker and night fountain. 

Promoting play, the artsy owners offer a vinyl station to spin records, a video projection area, yoga gear, and plenty of curiosities throughout the apartment to capture your attention.

Tucked into a small quiet street in the upscale Polanco neighborhood, this vacation home rental in Mexico City is located a few steps away from the Parque Gandhi within the greater Bosque de Chapultepec area, a favorite destination of runners, walkers and balance seekers. Polanco is best known for its brand-name boutiques and glittery international restaurants that line the prestigious Avenida Presidente Masaryk. 

The apartment provides easy access to all the area’s offerings, from restaurants and cafes, markets and boutiques, to three of the city’s top museums, Museo Tamayo, Museo de Arte Moderno, and the Museo de Antropología. Other well-regarded Mexico City neighborhoods with their distinctive character are also within walking distance, including La Condesa, La Cuautemoc, and La Roma.
