Distinctive Design & Nuance as Style Manifesto
This thrilling and alternately soothing vacation home rental in Arizona is defined by the details, both large and small. Exquisitely crafted and meticulously styled, it's a luxurious desert home that personifies the spirit of a "phantom" aesthete, photographer, and world traveler/bon vivant. Located in a quiet northern Scottsdale neighborhood, its unassuming location defies what lies inside its concrete perimeter.
Collaborating with some of Arizona's premier artisans, the owners have designed a Brutalist inspired oasis of elegance and sleek modernism. Exteriors of board-formed concrete block so commonly found throughout the state, are decidedly earthbound, while the cool, whitewashed interiors are the calm and ethereal center. Paired with natural flagstone floors and custom finishes, the home's polished refinement is tempered by natural textiles and furnishings and warm earthy accents.

The open-plan living area is framed on both sides with floor-to-ceiling slide away windows, where hanging gardens fall into view and open out to a private oasis-like pool and gardens designed by landscape artist Donna Winters. There's a chef's kitchen and dining area with a bar (great for entertaining), and a fireplace for a little extra atmosphere. The den injects a little 60s vibe to the spacious home, and there are five bedrooms, with room for up to ten guests.
The outdoor areas are ideal for entertaining in style and privacy, with a fire pit and dining area organized around the tropical lagoon.
A distinctively designed retreat created with equal parts imagination and sophistication, this home is "Insta" ready for its close up… and your getaway.
Around
East of the state capital of Phoenix and serving as the northern quadrant above Tempe and Mesa, Scottsdale may be a ritzy resort and spa town but there's plenty of turn of the century history and vast stretches of desert and national parkland that shouldn't be missed.
In the northern neighborhood where the house is located, is the Scottsdale Quarter and Kierland Commons, with all of the best dining and shopping in town, while the Wild West-themed Old Town is within a fifteen-minute drive.
The trailhead for McDowell Mountain Preserve is also just twenty minutes away where you can enjoy great hiking. Saguaro Lake is a forty-five-minute drive and Four Peaks, Superstition Mountains, White Mountains, and Mount Ord are across the Verde River Valley for an escape from the heat.
For architecture buffs, don't miss Frank Lloyd Wright's home and studio, Taliesin West, just a twenty-minute drive.
