Near the White House, a Modern Gem in a 100-Year-Old Neighborhood
Nestled in North Arlington, a neighborhood coveted for its farmer’s markets and quiet parks, here is a home that lets you set foot in two worlds. One day you might stay in with the family, cooking and decompressing; another you might tap into the energy of Washington D.C., just an eight-minute drive away.
Built in 2019, Richmond, VA-based architect and designer John Grigg designed the crisp and clean dwelling. Soaring ceilings on the main floor further open up the spacious layout and the bar counter is like having your own chef’s table. Circle around the wood-burning Isokern fireplace and enjoy simple comfort.
Spread across 5,000 feet and perfect for families, this home has tranquil suburban appeal through a modern lens. And its timing couldn’t be better, with the nation’s capitol generating a halo of optimism.
This vacation rental near Washington D.C. can host up to nine adults and three children, across its five bedrooms and five bathrooms.
With the living area on the first floor including the kitchen (fully equipped, with two dishwashers), the second floor has four bedrooms (two with queen beds, two with two twin beds each), and four bathrooms (one with a bathtub; the other three shower are outfitted with a shower only). On this floor, you will also have access to the laundry room.
The master suite, with a king bed, soaking tub and steam shower, is located on the third floor. It has its own balcony and patio.
GRAND MONUMENTS AND WORLD-CLASS MUSEUMS
Highly walkable and filled with green spaces, the town of Northern Arlington is family-friendly and quaint. Several farmer’s markets occur throughout the week and weekends, such as the Arlington market at the County Courthouse on Saturday mornings or the Ballston at Welburn Square on Thursday afternoons.
Picnic on the lawn or run through green acreage at Chestnut Hills Park in Yorktown or stroll the pollinator garden and make a new animal friend at the Gulf Branch Nature Center.
With just an eight-minute drive to Washington D.C., your sight-seeing menu is lengthy. There is the Georgetown Waterfront with its abundant shopping and dining options, the White House itself, Lincoln Memorial and the National Mall.
We love the Henry Moore sculptures outside the National Gallery of Art, the separate six-acre sculpture garden with Roy Lichtenstein and Claes Oldenburg's works, and the museum itself. In the East building, you’ll find works by Alexander Calder and Matisse.
The National Museum of African American History and Culture is also a bright new star on the D.C. map, with a crown-inspired, bronze-colored design and lace-like ironwork, as well as a powerful collection of 36,000 artifacts.
