The Good Life Endures at Palm Springs' James M. Hollowell House
It is posited that architect Stan Stackley was inspired by Rudolph Schindler. We can see the connection at this sleek, low-slung home in Palm Springs, designed by Sackley for the prominent Palm Springs attorney James M. Hollowell, in 1965.
Set among the lush, Marcello Villano-designed desert gardens in the coveted pocket of Deepwell Estates, this home was featured in the April 1966 issue Playboy Magazine. Fifty years later, it was luxuriously restored.
Interior designer Sam Cardella kept the home's original clean lines and vertically paneled many of its walls with three wood species, Cedar, Zebrano and Afromosia, to dramatic effect. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors provide generous pool and garden views and flow easily into the alfresco areas.
Here, stir a martini or Negroni and enjoy the majestic views of the San Jacinto mountains. This home is impeccable, glamorous and assured; go-with-the-flow Palm Springs living at its most stylish.
This vacation rental in Palm Springs has two bedrooms, both master suites, with two bathrooms and one half bathroom. One of the suites has a custom floating workstation and stunning wood-paneled fireplace. Both face the pool and patio, hallmarks of any successful holiday.
The kitchen offers up-to-date modern convenience and top-of-the-line appliances. It has a two-car garage and uses solar energy. It also has a washer, dryer, heating, air conditioning, Internet, TV and a hot tub.
