A Complex That Captures the Essence of Puglia's Architecture
With all the adorable allure of Puglia’s cone-topped trulli, this original lamia and trulli combination, with its stone-paved patios and pale blue infinity pool, offers sun-drenched living in style. Bring the family or fill it with a group of eight friends, and enjoy trullo time in the Itria Valley’s green heart.
An Original Trullo among the Olive and Almond Trees
Located on two hectares of land planted with olive, almond, fig and Mediterranean scrub trees, this authentic four-bedroom trullo complex is all about easy indoor-outdoor living and great style.
Outside spaces are sharply designed and set in stone, with brickwork sofas built into the shade of a large oak tree. Amenities include fire pits, a large covered dining patio with a barbecue and pizza oven, an outdoor shower stall, and a bright blue saltwater infinity pool overlooking the olive grove.
Layout
One trullo has a large living area with a fireplace, that extends into the dining room, large, country-style kitchen and pantry/laundry room, plus a bathroom with outdoor access. Off the living area, tastefully decorated with rustic finds and built-in stonework sofas, are three bedrooms (two doubles and one double twin room).
The villa’s fourth bedroom for two offers independent access and a private bathroom, and there are two additional bathrooms in the sleep area, equipped with showers.
Around
The landmark “white villages” of Cisternino, Ostuni, Ceglie Messapica, Locortondo and Martina Franca are all easy drives from the home, and the trullo town of Alberobello, a sought-after UNESCO World Heritage community, is also a short drive away.
The Itria Valley occupies southern Italy’s Puglia region at the top of the country’s boot heel, close to both the Adriatic and Mediterranean seas. The region’s sought-after, whitewashed trulli, once agricultural storerooms, pop out of the landscape in every direction, and stone villages rise from the rugged, tree dotted hills. Trulli homes date from prehistoric times and besides their beauty, they stand as remarkable examples of dry stone, or mortarless, construction. Alberobello alone claims some 1,500 trulli grouped together, and the countryside around the property is full of examples of the structure, both renovated, converted, and original.
Beyond the iconic structures, Puglia features olive-grove-covered hills and valleys, vineyards scattered across the rolling landscape, and even fertile plains where the ancient Greeks once farmed. Markets, vineyards, oil tastings and rural trattoria are abundant, and the Adriatic beaches, with their lively seaside cafes and colorful ports are a quick drive away.
