A Tropical Treehouse at the Heart of Tulum's Beach Scene

Designed by CO-LAB Design Office architects with softly elegant interiors created in collaboration with Annabell Kutucu, this five-bedroom, jungle-enclosed villa features cascading terraces, rooms with outdoor showers secluded among the leaves, an amoeba pool curving through the garden, and a rooftop dining and bar deck overlooking a thick sea of green, just across the street from Tulum Beach.

Walkable to the community’s buzzy restaurants, bars and clubs, this treehouse residence offers a true oasis, where every space is wrapped in a leafy jungle cloak, and gallery-quality interiors are alive with bespoke, locally-made artworks, handicrafts, and textiles. The art focus continues outside, where graphic murals and sculpture works accent the lushly organic outpost.

Layout

The three-level residence features indoor and outdoor shared spaces and five independent bedrooms including a double bedroom suite on the ground floor, with a pair of queen beds and two separate bathrooms with showers, a living room and wrap-around garden and jungle view terraces.

Upstairs, the Salon Room is outfitted with a king-sized bed and en-suite full bathrooms with a shower and access to the terrace.

Continuing upstairs, the Jungle Room is aptly named for its views across the tree canopy and its bathroom with a private outdoor shower hidden in the leaves. It has a double bed and access to the terrace as well. The largest suite occupies the same level, with a king-sized bed, en-suite bathroom with a shower and a private terrace hung with a hammock, offering views into the green of the surrounding palms.

Additional features

There is 24/7 private security on site and a safe in each room, plus AC in all bedrooms. The property’s kitchen is fully equipped, with a daily breakfast of fresh juices, fruits, yogurt and farm-to-table eggs made to order. Add-ons include a private chef, butler, waitstaff, bartending services, beauty and wellness treatments, tours, shuttles and transport organization/rentals, yacht experiences, a baby sitter and event planning/DJ services.

Around

The Riviera Maya’s white sand beach resort of Tulum was once a sleepy village sought after for its remarkable Mayan archeological ruins and the UNESCO-protected Sian Ka’an and Parque Nacional Tulum. Tourism to the area has expanded, making Tulum a diner’s delight and favorite destination for beachgoers who like their sand and surf with a side of massage, yoga, and wellness. Tulum Beach’s white sands, turquoise waters and dense jungle vegetation offer a classic tropical vacation destination under swaying palms, plus there’s an active nightlife in addition to dozens of wellness and self-care spa treatment-type opportunities by day.

Nestled into the jungle, the area is also known for its underground cenotes, some veritable underwater caves, others deep holes, all revered by the ancient Mayans and their ancestors as links to the underworld. The Mesoamerican Reef, the northern hemisphere’s largest, runs along the coast, making for great scuba diving and snorkeling. The Reserva de la Biosfera Sian Ka’an is full of cenotes as well as diverse flora and fauna unique to the area.
