Sometimes it's all about the view. This vacation home for rent in France is perched on the Corniche des Iles d'Or above the village of Aiguebelle, overlooking the glorious Mediterranean and the famous Porquerolles islands. It's a stylish, contemporary residence that's best enjoyed slowly, with stunning panoramas from every deck and terrace. 

Built on three levels in a sleek, contemporary style, the villa's open concept living areas are furnished simply and elegantly, flanked by balconies and decked terraces, each one boasting its own stunning sea view. The outdoor spaces make the villa a true stand out—its tiled pool, built-in barbecue, dining tables and banquette seating. The villa's garden was designed for whiling away lazy days. There's even a boules pitch under the palms within the landscaped gardens—exactly what you imagine when you plan a visit to the south of France. We love the white exteriors against the azure skies, the weathered wooden decks, and the generous outdoor dining spaces, ideal for entertaining. Perfect for slow dining as the sun sets, and lingering poolside long into the starry night.

The house has five bedrooms divided between its three floors. All have ensuite bathrooms and those on the lower levels have direct access to either private balconies or the main terrace. The main living area is on the second level, with a large living/dining room that expands out into the outside terrace. There are multiple options for relaxing and dining, both inside and out.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

The villa is well equipped with tech—wifi, UK satellite television, French terrestrial television, Apple TV and a DVD player. There is also a hi-fi audio system with CD player and sound dock. A selection of books and games is provided. The kitchen has Gaggenau appliances with zoneless induction hob, oven, large fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The cellar/pool plant room has an additional American fridge/freezer, as well as washing machine and dryer.

Egyptian cotton bed linen is provided, as well as bath, hand and pool towels. Guests should bring their own beach towels. For stays of seven days or longer, linen is replaced on a weekly basis at the same time as the weekly cleaning. More frequent linen changes can be arranged at additional cost. There is inside parking and additional street parking.

AROUND

The villa is located in what the Sunday Times describes as the Côte d'Azur's "undiscovered secret." Aiguebelle is set between perennial St Tropez and a region named lyrically after the lavender flower, Le Lavandou. This stretch of the French Riviera is known for its idyllic golden sand beaches, breathtaking views and flowering byways. A five-minute walk from Jean-Blanc beach, known as one of the quietest and most picturesque of Le Lavandou's 12 beaches, the home offers easy access to beautiful coastal walks, a winding cycling route that follows the sea, and many excellent local restaurants and beach clubs. The beautiful and wild Massif des Maures hills are a few minutes' walk from the villa, with the classic Provencal villages of Bormes les Mimosa, Gassin, Cogolin and Collobrieres all a short drive. World-famous St Tropez is within easy reach, and the villa is well situated for exploring the hills and vineyards of Provence, as well as Nice, Cannes and Monaco. 

Guests can catch the ferry from Le Lavandou to the beautiful Porquerolles islands, or sail, windsurf, jet and water-ski in nearby Cavalière. Several local marinas provide boats for hire, and the owners can arrange a classic sailing yacht for the more adventurous. Cavalière also has an excellent tennis club, and the golf course at La Londe is about 25 minutes away by car, its sloping fairways and challenging greens open to day visitors. Golf aficionados can also play the exclusive Gassin Country Club in St Tropez.
