Cabana Complex Walkable to Pego Beach
A 400-square-meter complex of four connected cabanas, this coastal retreat is great for a crowd. It sleeps 10 guests in three independent cabanas, joined by a bright, open-plan living, dining and kitchen cabana at its heart, and a 12- x 5-meter lap pool under the pines.
Coastal Cabanas near Comporta and Carvalhal
Four cabanas connected by wooden pathways, this coastal villa is great for groups, who can spread out among its units then gather inside its common-area cabana for meals and entertainment.
There are three sleeping cabanas, one master plus two cabanas with two bedrooms each. One offers two twin rooms for the kiddos or uncoupled friends.
The standalone living, dining, and kitchen cabana is clad in floor-to-ceiling windows for classic, coastal living, and there are alfresco dining zones, game courts, multiple terraces (ground and roof), and a 12 x 5 meter lap pool set under the classically windswept coastal pine trees.
The multi-unit property is set on the sand, only a short walk from famous Pego Beach at Carvalhal, making it the perfect spot for a post-beach, poolside cool down.
Around
Located walking distance from the iconic Pego Beach, the property is a coastal gem, an easy stroll from the Atlantic’s crashing waves and the local beach bars and restaurants along the water. The town of Carvalhal is a quick drive away, offering ample services and a handful of local restaurants, cafes, and shops. And the increasingly designer communities of Comporta and Melides are easily reached as well, both destinations teeming with galleries, boutiques, and fancier restaurants and nightlife.
Carvalhal’s beaches are freer and easier than those at Comporta or Melides, with fewer visitors. The small town is one of seven in the the Herdade de Comporta, a zone of rice paddies and the wetlands of the Sado Nature Reserve. Pego Beach is a remote-feeling, four-kilometer stretch of golden sand surrounded by a pine forest. A destination restaurant for those in the know is located on Pego, Sal Restaurant, a family-run domain of grilled fish and freshly caught seafood. Dolphins jump in the waters offshore, and the waves make the entire region a surfing hotspot for both pros and beginners, well-served by surf schools and local guiding companies.
Carvalhal Beach is situated at the end of the village’s main street. Dune backed and flanked by rice paddies, the family-friendly beach also has a well-loved traditional waterfront restaurant, and there are beach loungers and umbrellas available for a fee.
