Curvaceous and sculptural, the dwelling invites you into its living room that opens with a Moorish-style arch, and has a mosaicked floor with a beautiful mandala in the center, all surrounded by circular clerestory windows. Sprawl out in the common areas, challenge a travel mate to a game of ping pong on the ocean view terrace that wraps around the home’s west side, or prepare a delectable meal in the earthen chef’s kitchen with its boomerang-shaped green island.  

This villa in Costa Rica can accommodate up to 11 guests, with four bedrooms and four bathrooms. Views are at their most magnificent from the upstairs master balcony, and the fourth bedroom with its own staircase that calls up a castle’s turret.

Each of the rooms are furnished with hotel-quality linens and pool towels - something you’ll want to grab on your way to the infinity pool that overlooks the Pacific Ocean.

Glorious Guanacaste

Located on the coast between Playa Avellanas (nicknamed “Little Hawaii” for its cowabunga-inducing swells and setting on a reef) and Playa Negra (a setting in the surf movie “Endless Summer II”), any itch to surf here will surely be satisfied and then some. From the villa, you can decide walk down a country road and pass through the village of Lagartillo, leading to the beach of Lagartillo, which tends to be pretty private and sparsely populated. The villa is 50 minutes away from Conchal Beach, a favorite beach on the Costa Rican Gold Coast that’s perfect for swimming and snorkeling.
