Fashionista Updates Timeless Cycladic Classic
This vast noble mansion, its vivid white arcades and private boat launch extending alongside the transparent sea, occupies a seafront throne on Syros in the aristocratic enclave of Poseidonia, land of turreted estate homes and lush, seaside gardens. The heritage structure has been thoroughly renovated by a young fashion and lifestyle designer.
The villa's renovation by Dimitra Kolotoura, co-founder of the Zeus + Dione brand, has brought the addition of the designer's custom furnishings and trademark silk linens to the property's classic Cycladic whitewashing and luxe marble interior, enlivening the noble halls with select antiques alongside newly handcrafted pieces.
A 19th-century stained-glass window marks one of the estate’s eight spacious bedrooms, and a vast, shaded outdoor living room and view terrace expands the space out to sea, extending from the two luxurious living rooms inside. A redesigned Mediterranean herb garden encircles the property, and a private dock and sun deck hover over the sea.

Around
Located on Syros Island, at the center of the Cycladic archipelago, the villa is one of only a few properties set directly on Foinikas Bay. The seafront estate is on the outskirts of the aristocratic enclave of Poseidonia, a resort neighborhood dominated by elegant holiday villas, longstanding restaurants and cafes, and the Orthodox and Catholic churches of St. John and St. Peter’s. Walking distance from the heart of Poseidonia, the villa is also close to several of the island’s beaches, including the popular Agathopes Beach. Beyond sea and sunbathing, Syros offers urban sightseeing pursuits in its capital city of Ermoupolis (12 km). As the Cycladic capital, Ermoupolis offers a wealth of Neoclassical architecture, with over 1,000 classified buildings, theaters, restaurants and historical monuments, plus notable festivals and a thriving arts and culinary scene. Outside of the capital city, the medieval amphitheater and city of Ano Syros is worth a visit, as are the ancient monuments in Kastri, north of the capital.
