A Cherished Island Home on the Corsican Coast
The house occupies two floors of a classic Corsican residence positioned on the hillside above Sant'Ambroggio, where the coastal road winds toward the sea. Bright, lively interiors are organized around a sitting room with fireplace and an open-plan kitchen that flows onto an outdoor terrace — a layout designed for long meals and easy movement between indoors and out.
The main living level is generous and well lit, with picture windows capturing the Mediterranean on three sides and a fireplace anchoring the sitting area for cooler evenings. The open-plan kitchen is fully equipped and can seat up to six. Bathrooms serve each bedroom as private en-suites.
The gardens are spacious and private — with shaded areas for reading and a terrace set up for dining overlooking the water. An outdoor shower handles post-beach arrivals. Multiple terraces and balcony positions capture views of Calvi Citadel and the silhouette of the island across the bay at different hours of the day.
The house is close by another of our favorite Corsican rentals Pietra Nova.

Around
Villa Flore is located just a few minutes walk to the nearest beach, and the nearby town of Lumio is small and charming. To the north, you’ll find the wonderful and wild beach of l’Ostréiccone and further south is the “Calanches de Piana” with incredible red rock formations above the sea for exploring.
Located on the northwest coast of the island within the Corsica Regional Park, the UNESCO designated Scandola Nature Reserve on the Cape Girolata Peninsula covers over 900 hectares of land and over 1,000 acres of marine habitat. A breathtaking stretch of coastline, it can only be reached by boat or, for the very adventurous, on foot through steep mountainous terrain. Populated with a vibrant array of marine life and sea birds, its jagged rock formations, caves and crystal clear waters are some of the most beautiful natural wonders on the island.
Be sure to take a drive along “Route des Artisans“, which crosses through several charming Corsican villages like Pigna, Corbara and San Antonino. Le Clos Colombu, the famous “wine cave” of Lumio, offers a great look at the wine-making process and delicious tastings. Nearby Calvi is a bustling town with great cafes and shops and the beautiful historic citadel.
