Chaise loungers complete the poolside sunning area, and a few steps towards the home lands you under a shaded patio set with a casual outdoor dining table and barbecue, more lounge chairs, and natural décor accents of driftwood and cactus.

Indoors, an open-plan living room features a traditional, blue-and-white-tile topped hearth retrofitted to hold a wood-burning stove and its cozy timber fuel. A spacious dining table for ten is located adjacent to the living room and the kitchen stretches out nearby, too, updated by all modern amenities, yet still offering a family-styled casual farmhouse-feeling space to gather, cook and share leisure time. A golf course is located some 50 kilometers away, and the area in and around Comporta is known for its easygoing, creative coastal vibe. 

Comporta itself offers galleries, shops and multiple artisans and creators who  offer open studios for browsing. The region is picturesque and relatively unspoiled, often celebrated as Europe’s last wild coast, with rice paddies, cork oak groves, and vineyards stretching for miles inland from the ocean. The Atlantic beaches near the home are known for their ochre-colored cliffs and long stretches of empty dunes and crashing waves.
