Thick stone walls keep the interior cool through August without the air conditioning working hard, and Villa Luce follows that discipline. The palette is white throughout, and rows of ancient olives are framed through every window. But it also has the comforts that matter, including a fully fitted kitchen, a second lounge with sofa and television, and walk-in showers in all five bathrooms.
The main living space runs open-plan across kitchen, dining, and sitting area. A second television lounge offers a quieter alternative when the group needs to split. All four bedrooms have their own en-suite bathrooms with walk-in showers, individual air conditioning controls, heating, and a television. The infinity pool uses a saltwater sterilization system, so there's no chlorine smell, it's gentler on skin, and it's also visually clean against the olive grove beyond. Eight sun loungers ring the pool deck. Two pergolas extend the outdoor living area. One is a dedicated dining and barbecue terrace with an outdoor kitchen. The hectare of land is planted with ancient olive trees, which provide shade through the hottest part of the day and a degree of natural privacy from the surrounding countryside. Good to know
A car is essential. The villa sits in open countryside outside Ostuni, and the surrounding villages of Ceglie Messapica, Carovigno, San Michele Salentino are a short drive but not walkable. The host is available during the stay for support and can arrange transfers from both Brindisi and Bari airports. Bed linen and towels are changed every four days, and final cleaning is included. Laundry service is available at extra cost. Events and weddings are possible, by arrangement.

Ostuni (La Città Bianca) is a 10-minute drive, and is worth a visit for its whitewashed medieval alleys, baroque architecture, and a ridge-top cathedral with views across the grove-covered plain to the Adriatic. Ceglie Messapica, around 15 minutes south, is the food capital of the Itria Valley and home to Cibus, a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant on Via Chianche di Scarano, known for its traditional Apulian menu and an underground wine cellar stocked with regional bottles. The coast at Torre Canne is roughly 20 minutes by car. Alberobello and the trulli landscape are under an hour. A car is essential for all of it.
