Next Level Amenities: A Tuscan Luxury Vacation
With a chef, cleaning staff of three, and exclusive access to a members-only beach club, this modern Tuscan villa takes luxury seriously. Add to that its groundbreaking art collection promoting female artists, the 100 percent local, organic menu, and an in-home spa, relaxation room, pool, gym and cinema, and you’ve got a Tuscan holiday destination for the most discriminating tastes.
This villa for rent in Tuscany offers an intentionally designed yet unpretentious, estate-quality stay. Each piece of furniture in the modern, well-ordered residence was custom created by Italian artisans, and is kept tidy by on-site staff. The generous garden puts alfresco living front and center, offering both covered and starlit dining areas and a hacienda-styled courtyard lounge that descends to the pool terrace, where pergolas, hammocks, and sun beds are perched panoramically above the golden plains and vineyards with mountains silhouetted in the background.
The villa has five ensuite bedrooms, including a kids' bedroom with twin beds and an underground service bedroom, all air conditioned.
AROUND
Set on a gentle hillside overlooking a quilted landscape of wheat, olive groves, and grapevines, this villa for rent in Tuscany is located outside of the hilltop town of Garaviccio, a striking, stony medieval hamlet made famous by the late French-American artist Niki de Saint Phalle’s monumental sculpture garden. The Tarot Garden, a psychedelic, dazzling, mirrored and mosaicked extravaganza, represents the 22 major arcana of the esoteric tarot and occupies 14 acres of an abandoned quarry. This part of Tuscany is referred to as the Maremma, and the region is known for its small towns—Capalbio, Manciano, and Orbetello and its Etruscan ruins, as well as its wide sandy beaches and dune blanketed coastline. This is where Tuscany meets the region of Lazio. The beaches near Capalbio are famed in Italy, with an exclusive, “when you know, you know” vibe. The stays in the villa come with access to L’Ultima Spiaggia Beach Club, one of the country’s most famous private spots on Chiarone Beach. A playground for celebrities, politicians, artists and powerbrokers, the private club is so named because it’s geographically the “last resort” before Tuscany turns into Lazio. Backed by dunes and Mediterranean maquis, the crystalline water is shallow, and the 8-kilometer club is full service—with buffet dining and catering, equipment rental, cabins, cabanas and loungers, live music and even beachfront massage services by appointment. An extra plus is that the club is secluded next to the WWF nature reserve Lago di Burano, home to migratory and aquatic birds and easy walking trails.
