A Working Farmhouse Turned Living Gallery
Born as a working farmhouse in the 1500s, the villa underwent a meticulous restoration that prioritized volume and light over traditional rustic ornamentation. The design philosophy is one of subtraction: exposing the original masonry and integrating it with a neutral, monochromatic palette. The result is a "living gallery" where the furniture—sculptural and precise—acts as art against the canvas of the historic structure.
The 400-square-meter interior is spread across three levels. The ground floor is a fluid social space featuring an L-shaped living area with a fireplace, a dedicated study, and a high-tech kitchen equipped with dual cooking stations. A dramatic stone staircase leads to the first floor, where the sleeping quarters are located. The design language here shifts to warmth, with natural wood textures softening the minimalist lines. Bathrooms are standout features, fitted with Antonio Lupi fixtures and resin finishes.
The estate unfolds across terraced gardens planted with ancient olive trees and Mediterranean scrub. The centerpiece is a 15-meter swimming pool set into a stone terrace, offering uninterrupted valley views. Guests can utilize the professional barbecue and pizza oven for alfresco dining, challenge each other on the private bocce court, or harvest seasonal produce from the dedicated vegetable garden. A covered wooden patio provides a shaded refuge for long, lazy lunches.
What we love
We love how the high-design vibe makes this old farmhouse feel so fresh, especially with those four-meter ceilings and cool, natural materials. The architecture really draws your eye out to the terrace, where you get those massive views of the Tuscan hills. It’s the best spot to hang out before making the quick 10km drive down to the beaches for the day.
Layout
The villa sleeps up to 10 guests across five first-floor bedrooms. The configuration includes two master suites with king-size beds and en-suite shower rooms, one king suite with a bathtub and shower, one double bedroom with a bathtub and shower, and a flexible twin room (joinable) with an en-suite shower. The ground floor includes a guest bathroom with a shower (no sleeping quarters). A basement level houses a multipurpose recreation room with table tennis.
Experiences
Guests can forage in the property's garden for dinner ingredients or hire a private chef to utilize the professional kitchen. The surrounding hills are ideal for hiking, while the nearby town of Camaiore offers authentic osterias and craft shops.
Good to know
The final approach to the villa is a 500-meter steep, winding paved road. A car with high ground clearance is strongly recommended, and confident driving skills are required. The property is not suitable for guests with significant mobility issues due to the internal staircases leading to all bedrooms. Pets are allowed. The pool is open from 1 May to 1 October. There is a mandatory tourist tax of €1.50 per person per day to be paid on arrival.
