A Villa on the Water's Edge
This villa on the edge of the Bay of Banderas was redesigned by the creators of the award-winning boutique hotel Verana. Reachable only by boat from Puerto Vallarta, it's a remote hideaway that combines a lush jungle setting with impeccable design. With two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a private pool and the ocean as its soundtrack, it sleeps four guests comfortably.
Where the Jungle Meets the Ocean on the Bay of Banderas
Newly renovated, Villa Verana sits on the water's edge near the village of Yelapa in an unspoiled corner of the Bay of Banderas. The house is reachable only by boat from Puerto Vallarta, making the journey as exciting as the destination.
When you get there, you'll find a blend of castaway vibes and impeccable design, with palm fronds on rocky shores, adundant wood and natural stone, locally crafted textiles and furnishings, plus unique light fixtures designed by its owner. A secluded private pool sits above the ocean, surrounded by multiple lush terraces that provide postcard panoramas of the bay. Keep an eye out for passing whales, who are known to put on a show for guests.
The villa features two king-sized bedrooms, each on a separate level with its own bathroom and access to the pool. There is a kitchen (no oven), and there are several large terrace spaces overlooking the bay.
Additional features
Please note: the property cannot accommodate children under the age of 12. If pets are included in the booking, there is an additional deposit of US$500. The villa has a safe box.
Also note that there is no ATM, and many transactions in the village require cash.
Included in the rates are: Starlink wifi, garden and pool maintenance, daily cleaning (with linen change every three days), and round-trip boat transfer from Boca.
The Verana boutique hotel is close by, and its amenities (a full-service spa and alfresco hilltop restaurant) are available on request, subject to availability and with advanced booking.
Around
From the beach at Boca de Tomatlan near Puerto Vallarta, hop on a boat for a 30-minute ride along the coast to Yelapa. Jump off at the beach, and it's a short walk to Villa Verana (but don't worry, mules will help with your bags).
The village of Yelapa is located just 10 minutes on foot from the villa. Tucked into the southernmost cove of the Bay of Banderas, Yelapa offers a unique jungle panorama, dozens of palapas on jungle-clad hills, dramatic waterfalls, and a Mexican beach vacation minus the crowds.
A range of activities and hotel services are available, (sea excursions, cooking class or tequila tastings, spa treatments, etc.) These are by request and dependent on availability.
