An Inspired Wooden Home on the North Sea Coast
This architectural gem was designed by Søren Sarup of Puras Architecture, and it's hard not to fall in love with its geometrical whimsy and elegant simplicity. It's composed of three elements, the main building, the annex and the curved wooden deck that combines them. It's a bold yet simple, light-filled space, with unexpected angles and an open-plan design that allows you to see from one end of the home through to the other. The transitions between inside and out are seamless.
The house is located in nature, less than a mile from the dunes of the North Sea. The location is mirrored in the natural materials used to build the home: Douglas fir panelling on the outside and a Douglas fir floor on the inside, as well as natural slate tiles on its roof.
The huge windows (up to 16ft in height) allow abundant light to flood in, and for each room to pay homage to the outside world. The 14ft window in the master bedroom is a stunning feature, whether you are looking into it or out from it at the forest.
This is a must-stay vacation home for rent in Denmark for lovers of design and architecure.
The main unit has a large living room, with kitchen and dining space, the master bedroom, and a bathroom. A guest favorite is the enclosed wood-burning fire that's great for colder weather. The annex has two bedrooms, a large bathroom, and a loft that's perfect for kids. The two structures are linked by a covered wooden deck.
The house sleeps six guests in three bedrooms, making it perfect for a couple, friends or family.

The Park covers 55 km of the northwestern coastline. Denmark's largest wilderness, it is made up of dunes, dune heaths and more than 200 lakes. There are great paths for hiking and biking, trails for horseriding, spots for fishing and swimming, and lookout points for watching the local fauna, including red and roe deer, and, if you're lucky, cranes.
