This unique boutique hotel is a vibrant and creative sensory experience with an abundance of rich texture, color and eclectic style.  We love the unique and interesting mix of world-inspired design combined with traditional Nicaraguan colonial crafts and a touch of mid-century modernism. Relaxed and luxurious, this is a unique small luxury hotel in Nicaragua.

Located on a residential row of colorful colonial homes, Tribal Hotel is situated within the heart of the UNESCO Heritage city of Granada and a short walk from lake Nicaragua. Built around a small lush courtyard, the hotel offers a stylish and intimate experience: an eclectic collection of objects, rugs and art pieces from around the world are mixed with mid-century-inspired pieces of furniture designed by the owners and made by local artisans.

Conceived by New York hospitality and restaurateur veterans Yvan Cussigh and Jean-Marc Houmard (Indochine,  Acme, Tijuana Picnic), the hotel opened to great acclaim in 2014 and has been prominently featured in Conde Nast Traveler, ELLE Decor, Travel & Leisure and House & Garden among many other publications.

Each of the five en-suite premium rooms and two junior suites include private terraces overlooking the pool and gardens, with sliding glass doors that create a breezy indoor-outdoor flow and a relaxed luxurious feel.

The lush grounds include an intimate open-air communal living and dining area facing a small pool with cabana loungers. The pool's whimsical tiles are reminiscent of the famous sidewalks of Copacabana and are part of a patchwork of unique custom-made tiles used throughout the hotel.

Considered the most beautiful city in Nicaragua, you are just steps away from the UNESCO heart of Granada. A fast emerging destination on the rise, Nicaragua is home to a rich  history and raw natural beauty. Colorful and historic, the colonial past comes alive here with picture perfect grandeur surrounded by lush tropical scenery and protected ecological areas. 

Lake Nicaragua, the largest in Central America, is just a few minutes away, and the Mombacho and Masaya volcanoes are just a short drive. The inland city of Matagalpa produces the world famous Nicaraguan coffee and a little further up the mountain is Esteli where tobacco is farmed. The beaches near San Juan del Sur and the border with Costa Rica are about two hours south and the capital of Managua is just under an hour’s drive.

BEST TIME TO VISIT: Dry season is from December through April, and what is called the green season, when night storms bring nature back to its lushness, occurs between May and November - although it's never cold.
