Set just above the shoreline of the Gulf of Valinco outside of Propriano and visible only from the sea, this villa was designed by a native architect to realize and fulfill a dream that combined an inspired location and one of a kind design.
A chic and imaginative installation, the structure's horizontal contours, all-natural materials and roof covered in native plants and greenery blend effortlessly into the landscape. Facing the sea on two levels of stone terraces and gardens, you are surrounded in luxurious privacy. With walls of glass that reveal a spacious open plan layout, the interiors are bright and modern with concrete, wood and neutral accents.
Designed to flow throughout one level, the main living spaces encompass both a fireside lounge and sitting area as well as the dining area that seats up to twelve. The adjacent open plan kitchen is ideal for entertaining inside or out with an optional private chef. Opening out to the massive terraces and panoramic views of the gulf, the breezy interiors are sophisticated and contemporary with retro-modern furnishings and decor and a soothing neutral palette. With five en suite bedrooms, the house can sleep up to twelve and each is a private oasis with spectacular views.
The outdoor living areas are spacious and private with bi-level stone terraces and gardens and a curved infinity pool with views of the horizon.
GULF OF VALINCO
Located above the Gulf of Valinco, the charming village of Olmeto is nearby above the hills and canyons of Propriano with beautiful views of the bay. Situated between the headlands of Capo di Muro and Campomoro, the bay stretches along the rugged west coast from the sleepy, laid back village of Porto Pollo to the lovely seaside village of Campomoro, and is dotted with beautiful white sand beaches and coves.
Plage du Lido, Cupabia and Plage du Corsaire are two of the best and further south is one of the wildest coastlines on the island. Sartène also lies to the south and is said to be the most Corsican of Corsican towns with cobbled stone streets and historic atmosphere. Just a short drive north is the magnificent archaeological site of Filitosa with the stunning Neolithic megaliths. North of Porto Pollo is Cupabia – one of the most scenic of the Valinco’s region.
