We love the unique interconnecting pod design, the beautiful teak and bamboo and the innovative and award-winning architecture that floats above the trees.

Set above the jungle canopy with sweeping 180-degree views of the mountains and the Pacific, this beautiful home is comprised of a trio of "pods" that form a modern and eco-friendly treetop habitat. Designed by Costa Rican architect Benjamin Garcia Saxe, the home has been shortlisted for "House of the Year" by World Architecture News, awarded five Costa Rican Binneal awards and has been featured in Inhabitat, Dezeen, Design Boom, World Architecture News and Su Casa Magazine.

Uniquely designed in three independent sections connected by exterior walkways and bridges, the eco-conscious construction was designed for minimal environmental impact utilizing sustainable teak wood, solar power and UV water systems.

The large open-plan living room includes a chef's kitchen and dining area and is ideally placed to capture the views, with foldaway concertina doors that create an indoor-outdoor environment. The wood construction is sleek and modern but warm and inviting, with interiors designed Dante Medri. A lengthy bamboo corridor leads to two upstairs bedrooms with awesome views of the shoreline with a third bedroom downstairs.

The pool is positioned below the house with perfect placement to enjoy the sunsets. Modern and innovative but with an earthy warmth that gently inhabits the jungle environment, this is a luxurious and unique escape.

The house is just a five-minute walk to Playa Hermosa and a 10-minute trip to the charming town of Santa Teresa. The southern Nicoya Peninsula is a particularly blessed corner of Costa Rica. Due to its relative remoteness, it has retained the vibrant beauty of nature unspoiled by over-development.

With world-class surf breaks and beaches, Santa Teresa is adjacent to Malpais and offers tranquility in a less densely populated area along a stretch of road with mostly private residences. Manzanillo Beach is to the north and nearby Playa Carmen to the south on the road to the beautiful and protected Cabo Blanco Reserve at the tip of the peninsula.
