If you're looking for a Mexico beach house vacation rental, this bright, breezy and colorful property is located within walking distance of the charming fishing and surfing town of Sayulita on the Mexican Riviera. A cottage with a separate palapa house, it offers plenty of space for up to 10 guests and a wonderfully chilled - slightly wild - atmosphere. It has plenty of indoor/outdoor living space, has an expansive garden, and is just across a small road from the beach.
This two-building Mexican beach house vacation rental is surrounded in lush vegetation and has a lovely earthy feel. The main house is a whitewashed stone structure with a tiled roof, tiled floors, as well as wooden floors, beams and decking. The secondary structure is a breezy two-story palapa.
We love the splashes of bold color - the stained-glass windows, brightly-colored flooring tiles and vivid fabrics, as well as the entrance hall that feels a little like a hidden temple. The property has large gardens, as well as great outdoor living areas, draped in lush vegetation.
The house has five independent bedrooms. Two are in the main house - the master bedroom, with its lavish views of the ocean, has a king-sized bed, and the guest room has two twins that can be combined. Another bedroom is in the detached palapa with a queen-sized bed. This also has an upstairs queen bed accessed by a ladder.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
The palapa house has an outside sink as well as an outside shower with hot water. There is also a shower on the street level to rinse off after the beach.
There is a washing machine, keyless pushbutton locks throughout the house, and a parking spot on the street. All house water (sinks, showers, etc.) is purified and potable. There are overhead fans in the master suite, office, guest room, and upstairs palapa room, as well as a mosquito net over the bed in the downstairs palapa room.
AROUND
Up until recently, Sayulita was a sleepy fishing village, but in the last few decades it has developed a hipster surf scene - due to its great waves and sandy beaches. It's a great place to learn to surf, and the town is also known for great restaurants and chilled vibe. There are opportunities for hiking through virgin jungle trails, kayaking, scuba diving, snorkelling, sport fishing, and whale watching.
A car is not needed or recommended in Sayulita. The house is within very easy walking distance from town.
