Light and Space Coexisting Seamlessly
It's part warm rustic cabin, part modern installation, and we love the independent spirit of the design and the rugged location of this glass cabin in La Conner, Washington. Life in a transparent home is an amazing and unexpected way to live in the forest.
The spacious open-plan living area immediately heightens the senses with walls of glass that slide away allowing nature, light and space to coexist seamlessly. Gleaming pale wood floors and accents offset the geometric angles and contemporary furnishings for a fresh modern interpretation of cabin living.
Anchored with a woodburning stove and a large family dining area along with the open gourmet kitchen, the living space invites togetherness and intimacy. Tucked away in the eaves upstairs are two comfortable and simple bedrooms (with a full bed and two twins respectively) as well as a large sleeping loft with geometric skylights and views of nature at treetop level.
The main floor bath is bright and naturally lit with frosted windows that surround you. Down the wide outdoor stairs is a stone surfaced patio and dining area with views of Hope island, Whidbey Island, the Olympic Mountains and beyond. It's the best outdoor space for gathering for barbecues and dining al fresco.
A few steps beyond is your private stair access to the beach.
Glass Cabin is a beautiful forest dwelling that elevates the experience of living in nature and is a graceful and peaceful retreat to the woods.
