The WoodHouse Farm Satoli

Facing the Himalayas, A Mountain Retreat That Plays the Angles

Spread across 6,500 square feet, this striking wooden sanctuary in India seems to rise in front of snow-capped peaks in certain angles, while parts of it are hidden in the trees.

The experience of being here is a similar game of hide and seek. Tuck away with a game of Uno or a book and reemerge into nature, where you might take a hike or take up an afternoon of birdwatching.
New Delhi-based Matras Architects designed this home with three levels that cascade with lines of the natural terrain. And a peaked, all-glass-roofline follows the contour of mountains beyond, while allowing daylight to flood the interior.

Surrounded by thick forest, fruit orchards and vegetable plantations and situated in an the mountain village of Satoli, this farmstay is an extraordinary getaway where groups can effortlessly achieve the perfect balance of togetherness and space.
