This turn-of-the-century luxury villa for rent in Austria has been faithfully restored to recall the glamour of a bygone era. Set along Austria's historic railroad route, we love the idyllic setting and the genteel nostalgia that has not dimmed with time.
Built in 1912, this fin-de-siecle mountain lodge has been transformed with a keen sense of style and old-school grace and tradition. Set within the stunning scenery of the southern Austrian Alps, it's a great all-season holiday retreat. The picturesque estate is just outside of the health resort town of Semmering with stunning views across the valleys and mountains.
After three years of extensive renovations, the building's striking art nouveau beauty and old-world charms have been preserved along with luxurious modern comforts. The elegant salon features a marble fireplace and grand piano with an adjacent reading room that can be transformed into sleeping quarters.
The six en-suite rooms all feature claw-foot tubs and private balconies with sweeping views. Breakfast is served daily from the fully-equipped kitchen and can be taken outside on one of two terraces overlooking the scenery.
A luxurious spa and wellness area with floor-to-ceiling panoramic views of the mountains features a sauna, steam room with saltwater mist, plunge pool, indoor/outdoor fireplace and an outdoor Jacuzzi with a sun deck.
Outside you'll want to take in the views from the terraces or lounge in the interior courtyard with ample seating for up to twelve. There's an organic vegetable garden as well as a communal fire pit, play areas for kids and a solar-heated pool for summer fun.

Renowned for its picturesque Alpine beauty and restorative spa culture, the southern regions of Austria's eastern most state feature extensive hiking and skiing trails along the historic UNESCO railway line that starts at Gloggnitz and leads over the Semmering to Mürzzuschlag.
The nearby town of Semmering was a famous turn-of-the-century summer resort for well to do Viennese and remains a charming all-season destination to this day. You can access over 100 miles of hiking trails right from the front door and many miles of slopes for winter skiing within a short drive. Vienna is an hour's drive north east.
