A 19th-Century Warehouse Turned Artistic Hub

A dynamic and multifaceted space designed by a German artist, this vacation home for rent in Munich was created to get in touch with the creative muse, where art is the main event. Fashioned from a 19th-century warehouse, this vacation home for rent in Munich is located in the center of the city's vibrant and modern Glockenbach neighborhood, channeling its creative and edgy artistic energy.

Conceived and designed by a Munich and Athens based multi-disciplinary artist, the loft space has been transformed through thoughtful architectural improvements into a tranquil and inspirational live/work/gallery space and was created as a stand-alone room sculpture by the artist.

Situated in a rear courtyard, the spacious and luxuriously equipped loft is part of a larger hybrid concept that is home to a constantly changing selection of art by a wide variety of artists and is based on the philosophy of finding peace in an atmosphere of diverse aesthetics.

With almost 1,200 square feet of space, the loft is configured for up to five guests with one en-suite bedroom and very comfortable convertible sleepers in the main space as well as a Tatami meditation room. The cathedral-like corridor leads to the expansive living and dining area, with a sleek open kitchen connecting to the three rear rooms.

Custom smoked oak and walnut furnishings, designer fixtures and finishes, and cozy seating exude a stylish and welcoming mood. Supplemented with original works by renowned artists and newcomers, the space is currently host to works by the icon of Fluxus, Mary Bauermeister. The spaces are also outfitted with discreet high-tech media systems as well as noise reduction applications to create a relaxing and harmonious atmosphere where you'll feel at ease.

The large windows along the facades open out to a lovingly maintained private terrace planted with fragrant blooms that is the spot for morning coffee and contemplation.

Opening in 2018, the day bar on the second floor serves as the social hub for guests, locals and the creative community and is equipped with a private terrace and courtyard.

The gallery and social space at the rear of the building is home to new, emerging and established artists and hosts event and rotating collections throughout the year.

This is a unique hospitality concept that gives guests the opportunity to be inspired in an intimate and creative urban hideaway.

AROUND

As Bavaria's capital, Munich embraces both its past as well as its popular modern identity. From the old town center with its medieval and 17th-century remnants clustered around the ancient marketplace of Marienplatz and the Englisch Garden, to its reputation as a modern tech, commerce, arts and culture destination, the city is a fascinating mix of contradictions. (Of course many come for Oktoberfest every year when the beer flows freely.)

The central Glockenbach district is well known as a hip and edgy neighborhood with great restaurants, clubs and music scene, gay bars, galleries and tiny shops with rare and sometimes bizarre goods.

Known for its plethora of world-class museums, art scene and cultural destinations, the city has many famous old world charms too, including the popular Rathaus-Glockenspiel which attracts tourists twice daily as it re-enacts 16th-century stories with its lovely procession and chimes.
