There's something magical about the soul of a place this special and here undisturbed by time, you'll be swept away into history. Beautifully and sensitively restored with great passion and style, the best of history is preserved along with some surprisingly contemporary detail that's chic and fun.
Built high on a mountaintop overlooking the vast canyons and rolling countryside of the Tiber River valley below, this 12th-century hilltop town is a jewel that will transport you far back in time. Accessible only via pedestrian path, the majestic romance and deep history of the town is reflected in this beautifully restored villa.
Dating back to the 14th century, the home is perched atop ancient Etruscan caves and tombs and a beautiful Roman water cistern. A dramatic and fascinating location, the villa retains all of its charm and personality from the Middle Ages and is an affectionate homage to a town that has survived tumultuous history and several natural disasters. The restoration was a challenging exercise of careful preservation to retain the spirit and enduring beauty of the region while delivering the home to its rightful place in the modern world.
The authentic character and structural attributes are evident throughout with original floor tiles, a majestic stone fireplace, and rustic ceiling beams and are paired with modern design elements and furnishings that combine a passion for contemporary ideas, craftsmanship and a deep appreciation of history. The interiors have been transformed into bright, light filled spaces with the main living room, dining room and kitchen forming the heart of the house.
Upstairs are the three large and airy ensuite bedrooms that can sleep up to eight guests, each with lovely views of the valley below. With accents of brass, gold and grey and pops of bright colors and romantic touches, the effect is simple and serene. An enchanting place of beauty and history, this is a unique and expressive villa that combines the best of the old and new world.
