Perched on a hillside with breathtaking views of the Val Pusteria, this is a traditional-style mountain home with great design sensibilities and lashings of modern luxury. It also has a striking outdoor whirlpool, making it a great vacation home for rent in Italy in the summer as well.
This 16th-century hunting lodge in the Dolomites has won several awards, most notably Italy's Best Ski Chalet in the World Ski Awards for 2013 through 2015. And it's easy to see why.
A stunning location, overlooking the Val Pusteria, certainly helps, but we really like how the beautiful, traditional exteriors have been preserved - making this a lovely destination both when it's covered in snow, and when the summer sun is shining brightly on the surrounding meadows.
Interiors manage to combine an old-fashioned charm with elegant modern lines. We love the white entrance rooms with their curved, vaulted ceilings, little tunnels, nooks and alcoves, as well as the elegant recessed fireplace, the wrought-iron candelabras and other details. Abundant use of wood for walls, ceilings and floors give the house a remarkably cosy feel.
The property has four bedrooms - two with double bed and en-suite bathroom, one with a double, and a final room with two really fun wooden bunk beds.
The house also has a fabulously luxurious indoor relaxation area with Finnish sauna, Turkish bath (with chromotherapy), a whirlpool, and experience shower and stereo. There is also an outdoor panoramic whirpool and lounge.
