A Magical 17th-Century Estate in Chianti
This 17th-century Tuscan estate is located in the breathtaking hills of the world famous Chianti wine region. Newly restored, Tenuta is the ideal vacation home rental in Tuscany for families, groups, and romantics looking for a private retreat in the countryside, surrounded in the natural beauty of Italian cypresses, breathtaking sunsets and starry nights.
The farmhouse and granary accommodate up to 14 guests, and have great features including an authentic forno oven, a working fireplace from the Middle Ages, an outdoor saltwater pool, and a custom designed Tuscan kitchen.
The home's restoration took place between 2015 and 2017, and, inspired by their love for Tuscany's rich heritage and natural beauty, the owners Daniela and Paolo Fagotti sought to keep Tenuta as authentic as possible. From the terracotta tiles on the floor to the wood-beam ceilings and 17th-century fireplace, every surface has been lovingly restored, honoring the architectural structures in place since the Middle Ages.
The exterior buildings showcase the stones used in the first construction, peeking out from behind wisteria and wild grape vines. The interiors feature maze-like open and intimate spaces, filled with an abundance of natural sunlight. Each piece of furniture and décor has been curated from multigenerational craftsman and artisans, to ensure the authentic spirit of the property.
The estate is worlds away from the noise of the major cities and offers guests a chance to drink their morning espresso under the gentle rustling of giant Italian cypress trees, and their evening glass of wine watching the most spectacular Tuscan sunsets.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
In total, this vacation home rental in Tuscany sleeps 14 guests (10 adults in the Main House, 4 adults in the Granary). The main house has five bedrooms, two on the main level and three on the lower level, all with en-suite bathrooms, outfitted in Tuscan marble and travertine. It has a custom-designed kitchen with original fireplace from the Middle Ages. Interiors are maze-like and flooded with natural light. There is a living room with an original 17th-century fireplace. Some of the rooms have private terraces.
The separate Granary is a converted farmhouse with an elegant salotto (living room), a large chef's kitchen, and a dining room with its original stone backdrop, plus a wisteria-covered outdoor dining area and a large travertine table for up to 14 guests. The two bedrooms are on the upper level, with striking countryside views and large en-suite bathrooms. The guest bathroom has disabled access. There is now an outdoor stone kitchen on its terrace, with a wood-fired pizza oven.
This house is extremely well appointed, with air conditioning, heating, a small fitness room, a laundry room, salon-grade hair dryers, Ortigia bath products, Frette linens, a security system and safe deposit box, and a media room with a Sonos wireless surround sound system, iPad, Bose SoundDock iPod/iPhone speakers, satellite TV with Netflix, DVD, Wii and PS4. It is powered by solar panels, and rainwater is harvested for irrigation.
