Located on a terraced hillside on the isle of Capri, in the Bay of Naples, the villa cuts a classic, upscale figure on the slopes over town. Capri rises from the Tyrrhenian Sea all limestone and craggy, with stunning coves and dramatic caves defining its spectacular coastline. An original playground of the world’s rich and famous, Capri is undeniably beautiful and glittering, a glamorous land of limestone cliffs, gleaming yachts, bright blue waters and huge rocky outcroppings, the most famous of which is the Faraglioni formation. Candy colored houses line the island’s timeless port, made more glamorous by shiny sailboats, well-heeled seafood restaurants, and the bright wooden caprese gozzo boats beached on the sand and perfect for touring the island. Cave swimming is a popular pastime on Capri, and the isle is famed for its handful of illuminated grotta, where you can swim in the luminescence around the dripping profiles of stalagmites and stalactites. The secluded bay of Bagni di Tiberio is worth a visit and, though the beach crowds cover the sands from sunup to sundown, one way to enjoy the locale is to grab a spot at a waterfront seafood restaurant where you’ll be guaranteed great views and get delicious local fare to boot—from fresh-off-the-boat seafood to namesake Caprese everything—salads, ravioli, tortas and even a dessert.
