This beautiful house is surrounded by water, with views of La Piedra, a 1,263ft tall monolith, and green mountains. Brought to life by Colombian designer Federico Restrepo, it's the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature.
AROUND
This striking waterside home is located in the holiday town of Guatapé, known for its beautiful traditional homes or zócalos, with their brightly-colored, bas-relief paintings of people and animals.
On the shores of the huge artificial lake Embalse Guatapé, it's a great destination for outdoor adventures, extreme water sports, or for exploring nature at a relaxed pace. Weekends in Guatapé are particularly festive, as the town is often packed with local tourists.
Make sure to visit El Peñón de Guatapé (or La Piedra), the giant rock formation on the lake, with its exposed vertical face that can be scaled by stairs (649 of them, in fact). There are food vendors and gift shops at the summit.
LOCATION
Guatapé, Antioquia, Colombia. The town is 49 miles from the regional capital of Medellín.
