FORTE SEA HOUSE, SICILY, ITALY
Feeling above it all is easy at this former fisherman's house in the UNESCO-designated heart of Syracuse. With two living spaces surrounding a rooftop terrace, it was designed for lovers of golden hours, sea breeze and crisp glasses of white.
The sheltered rooftop terrace and pool of this restored 17th-century stone dwelling is a bit of a wonderful anomaly in the area. No wonder it was nominated by Archilovers among the 1,000 best projects in the world.
CASA CAIADAS - OPEN HOUSE, ÉVORA, PORTUGAL
This three-story guest house in vibrant Arraiolos is crowned with a large perch for enjoying the year-round sunny weather. From its sparkling blue pool, you can see one of Alentejo's most iconic images: a blanket of terracotta roofs ascending toward the sky.
Bring your bathing suit and enjoy a dip on the sunnier side of things, while taking in the lovely sea views of the Algarve at this strikingly minimalist design villa. Its geometrically composed rooftop is a drone's (and vacationer's) dream.
IMEROVIGLI VILLA, SANTORINI, GREECE
Saying this villa has sea views seems to be putting it mildly: its milky-white rooftop juxtaposed with the sapphire water and caldera views are jaw-dropping reminders of Mother Nature's indelible handiwork.
