<p>Designed and built by the owners as a partially off-grid family homestead, this vacation home for rent in Spain sits in a magnificent and private landscape on eight acres of Mediterranean pine forest and orchards, with limestone terraces leading down to two intersecting rivers.</p>
<p>Constructed of steel, wood, and concrete, the structure is partially subterranean, with the central dome serving as the primary shelter space, and a massive cantilevered aperture at the center. The angular, outward-facing walls of glass focus the views on the stunning scenery and serve to ventilate the whole house.</p>

The adjoining dining area is large enough to serve up to 10 guests and is adjacent to the expansive pool terrace and indoor courtyard for great open-air living. There is a rooftop terrace and two additional wrap-around terraces for lounging, as well as a hammock under the shade of the trees.Along with the 30-meter infinity pool, there is an additional pool underneath with a waterfall that has a walled area for children. The smaller of the two saltwater pools has a Jacuzzi and can be heated, which is great for winter stays. Equal parts mid-century modern and ancient adobe castle, the striking minimalist emphasis in and out and use of raw, natural materials creates a harmonious palette with the landscape.</p>

<p>Perched on almost nine acres at the edge of the stunning Puertos Beceite National Park, Casa Pezo floats above a hidden valley, with spectacular views over the national park, the Algars river, and the medieval hilltop villages of Arnes and Horta San Juan in the distance.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Designed by multi-award-winning, MoMA-exhibited, Chilean architects, Pezo &amp; Von Ellrichshausen, the house was selected one of the five most important new houses in the world as well as Best New Private House in 2014 Wallpaper Magazine and has been featured extensively in the worldwide media, from Architectural Digest and Vanity Fair to the cover of the coffee table book, Super Houses.</p>

The home's main living spaces are lofty and bright with vaulted wood ceilings, concrete floors and two matching panoramic windows facing opposing views of the landscape. The lounge is arranged around a central fireplace with a large dining area and fully equipped kitchen.  The two en-suite double bedrooms are mirror images of one another divided by an additional mezzanine sleeping area for two perched in the eaves and private entrances. On one side of the house is a small patio with expansive views of the valleys and mountains and an outdoor dining area on the opposite side, each accessed by through the oversized glass walls that feature large, exterior barn style doors.Completely immersed in the countryside with no immediate neighbors, this is a special retreat that allows you ultimate privacy, comfort, and beauty.  BASQUE COUNTRY'S NORTHERN TERRITORIESThe northern reaches of Basque country in Spain are some of the most beautiful and diverse areas of the country. Surrounded by mountains and national parks just an hour from the sea, it's a quiet and lush network of valleys and rich in natural beauty, culture and gastronomy. The Pas region of the Los Valles Pasiegos is made up of three adjacent valleys and mountain ranges crossed by the three rivers that give them their names: the Pisueña, Pas and Miera Rivers. Cantabria's coast has a multitude of good beaches and reefs and is a popular surfing destination. The capital city of the Cantabria region and popular summer resort town of Santander is an hour north and sits at the mouth of the bay along La Magdalena peninsula.Considered the heart and capital of Basque country the industrial port city of Bilbao is just under two hours drive. <h2>Architect Laura Alvarez Rediscovers And Explores Her Basque Roots</h2>
    <p>Once the site of a homestead ruin, this holiday home in Spain’s Basque countryside is a modern version of a peasant’s cabin. Set within the lush Valles Pasiegos Nature Park with stunning views all around, the house was designed by award-winning Spanish architect Laura Alvarez whose work in both residential and commercial installations combines a multi-disciplinary approach to design.</p><p>With great thoughtfulness and meticulous execution, Alvarez took the site's amazing natural beauty into consideration reusing old stone and materials from the shed and the Cantabria region in the construction. The building's features are simple and straightforward but with a refined elegance derived from the contrast of rustic textures and contemporary style.</p>

<p>Set in an untouched forest area in the mountainous region of Matarraña just north-east of the Els Ports national park, this holiday home in Spain is located in the center of the Barcelona–Valencia–Saragossa triangle. Here, in the midst of a one hundred hectare plot of pure nature, one feels suddenly truly “solo” – alone and magically isolated and disconnected from everyday life.</p>
<p>SOLO CIRCLE, completed in 2017 by the Belgium based architects Kersten Geers and David Van Severen is the second in the ongoing “Solo Houses” project of contemporary homes conceived by a New Garde of international young architects, offering a distinctive vacation experience.</p>
<p>Constructed almost entirely of concrete with oversized glass walls and sliding aluminum and polycarbonate panels, the spherical shape is sculptural and otherworldly and in striking harmony with the landscape. Its circular design forms an endless promenade that rotates your perspective over the landscape giving the sensation of total immersion into the wilderness.</p>
