An Elevated Restoration in Holland Park

Reimagined by Ashley Law, founder of the London studio Flawk, Alta is a three-story townhouse that breathes the sun-drenched ease of the South of France into the heart of West London.

The renovation began by stripping the property back to its core, relocating the staircase to the rear, and allowing light to flood the living spaces. The design reflects a grown-up sensibility, blending Latin-inspired height with French-inspired nonchalance. The interiors celebrate raw and refined materials in equal measure. In the kitchen, white lacquered cabinets contrast with deep-stained oak floors. Bathrooms feature terracotta tiling and bespoke vanities. Throughout the home, the furniture—sourced by vintage dealer Myakin—interacts with hand-poured aluminum hardware, bespoke lighting designed by Flawk, and surrealist works by artist Kate Burling.

The rear of the home opens to a secluded courtyard, an ideal spot for a morning espresso or a glass of wine in the evening.

It’s a masterclass in tactile storytelling, where reclaimed marble, custom woodwork, and surrealist art transform a historic townhouse into a sensory retreat.

This vacation home for rent in London sleeps up to six guests. Spread across three levels, the home features three bedrooms. The principal suite is anchored by a floor-to-ceiling sapele wood headboard and features a private en-suite bathroom with a marble-topped vanity. Two additional guest rooms share the upper floor. The ground floor flows from the light-filled kitchen to the living area.

Guests can participate in Flawk’s signature cultural programming, including immersive supper clubs held on-site. These events feature menus and tableware designed to foster community, allowing guests to experience the home as a platform for local art and conversation rather than just a place to sleep.

A dedicated concierge is available to facilitate check-in and local bookings. Given the three-story layout and sculptural staircase, the home may not be suitable for those with limited mobility.
