A 1829-Built Mansion is Renewed as Apartments on the Alsace Wine Route
If you like babka and an architectural renaissance, this is the place for you. These five guest apartments in Rorschwihr are the result of a couple who fell in love with a former winegrower's mansion, and the charm of its character and region. The estate was originally owned by a local couple in the 19th century, and is set on many hectares of vineyards with a huge wine cellar.
The couple renovated it in 2019, preserving details like the elegant facade and the intricately carved interior staircase and modernizing it with comforts like contemporary kitchens, walk-in showers and memory foam mattresses.
These individually-styled units are a wonderful home base for discovering the wine region Alsace, celebrated for its local gastronomy, hiking in the Vosges, and charming Christmas markets.

Studio N°1 and Studio N°3 are studios with one queen-size bed, one bathroom and accommodating up to two guests.
Appartement N°2 is a two bedroom unit with two bedrooms and three beds, and one bathroom, accommodating up to four guests. This unit has one queen-size bed in the master bedroom and two single beds (190x90) in the second bedroom.
Appartement N°4 is a unit with one bedroom and one ensuite bathroom, accommodating up to two guests. It has a queen-size bed.
Appartement N°5 is a unit with one bedroom and one bathroom, accommodating up to four guests with one queen-size bed and two bunk beds.
Bike and car parking is available in the private garage.
FAIRYTALE VILLAGES AND WINE EXPERIENCES
Source material has always inspired us, and so we were delighted to find out that Disney was inspired by the villages of Riquewihr and Ribeauvillé when creating Belle's hometown in Beauty and the Beast. A stay at Appartements Sojolidays keeps you close to these charming Alsatian towns, and several more, like Château du Haut Koenigsbourg and Colmar, with their colorful facades and cobbled streets. And the Japanese filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki was inspired by the quaint architecture of Colmar for animated treasures such as Howl's Moving Castle.

And a stop at Naturoparc, formerly a center for the reintroduction of storks, you can learn about Alsace's emblematic bird, and enjoy a picnic among the quietude and beauty of nature. There is also an aquatic show.
