Bright and Light Space on Historical Square
Nestled among the green treetops of Bakáts Square, this charming two-bedroom apartment in a period building sits in direct view of the recently renovated Church of St Francis of Assisi. In the light-flooded living room, one can see the church directly through the high, beautiful windows, framed by the leaves of the trees. We especially like that the church is so visually and physically present; it almost feels like part of the apartment.
The square has a long chequered history. In 1795, a local wheelwright by the name of János Fellner donated a plot of land to the Catholic Church, to lay the foundation for the future square. After the catastrophic 1838 flood, the entire area was redrawn and preserves the likeness of present-day Bakáts Square. It has undergone an extensive restoration project after having suffered damage at the hands of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution.
Unlike the tumultuous history of the square, this vacation home for rent in Budapest has a quiet atmosphere. An oasis of peace that stands out from the surroundings, this urban retreat brings together the very best of Scandinavian and Central European interior design.
The living room with a balcony and spectacular view is the heart of the stylish apartment. With its high ceilings of 11 feet, the light-filled living room stays cool in summer due to its open-plan design.
In the kitchen, a centrally positioned island, finished with a high-end mineral worktop, offers you plenty of space for food preparation and social gatherings. All fitted units were custom made by a premium manufacturer, and come complete with a built-in fridge freezer, dishwasher and oven. Guests are also provided with a high quality coffee machine.
In the main bedroom, you will find a spacious double bed and boudoir, both made of wood sustainably sourced from European forests. One detail which we particularly like is the free-standing bath by Marmorin Design which rests on traditional Hungarian mosaic tiles. Likewise facing the church square, the main bedroom features sound-proof windows to ensure a comfortable stay. The design of the main bathroom is focused around the wall of antique Hungarian mosaic tiles and comes with a relaxing waterfall shower.
In the guest room, the convertible sofa bed can comfortably sleep two guests. The space also acts as a focused haven for remote working with a desk and wireless printer. Connected to the guest room is a second bathroom where you will find an additional toilet, wash basin and washing machine.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
A Sony Bravia 50-inch flatscreen provides dozens of international channels and 1 GB/s internet speed with complimentary access to Netflix and Amazon streaming services. You can connect your music device to the portable, wireless loudspeaker.

Located in Ferencváros, the 9th district of Budapest, the apartment’s local area has seen an influx of young population in recent years, which has created a vibrant atmosphere.
