Pink Skies over the Bukit Peninsula
This vacation home rental in Bali comes from one of those leaps of faith we all know we have in us, and fewer sometimes accomplish. But the lure of Bali, adventure and a love of the culture proved too much of an intoxicating mix for the owners who took that leap, creating a tropical-modern retreat where your views of the pink morning skies illuminate the jungle treetops over the Bukit Peninsula.
In partnership between Los Angeles–based architect Luc Berne, Balinese builder I Wayan Suestha, and luxury travel and design writer Kathryn Romeyn, the home blends iconic Balinese aesthetics with indigenous materials and craftsmanship, clean California contemporary lines, and a bright indoor/outdoor living plan that celebrates both.
Discretely blending with its surroundings, the delightfully modern, open-air floor plan and innovative architectural design allows the home to adhere to the the land while affording a private sanctuary.
The temple at the far side of the property is maintained by the gardener and his wife, and the offerings of "canang sari" are a hallmark of Balinese Hinduism. So, come celebrate the Island of the Gods’ rich culture of artistic craft and beauty here.

This exotic vacation home rental in Bali is located below Densapar in the surf capital of the island. Known to have some of the world’s most beautiful beaches, from the villa you are within minutes of the crashing waves along the shore with the music of rare and exotic birds providing a natural soundtrack.
Completed in 2018, this is a luxurious and private vacation home experience. Conceived as a modern take on Balinese architecture, the villa was carefully constructed and completely custom made, from the traditional hand crafted furnishings, to the colorful hued tile walls and rich teak accents.
Understated, casually luxurious and elegant, this home is designed to address the aesthetic preferences of the more discerning traveler.
Melding the California modern sensibility with Balinese craftsmanship, the home features family-owned artisan textiles, green Indian marble, rich teak woods and custom-made features painstakingly matched to the owners vision including a chevron-patterned green and white floor in the great room.
The great room is a voluminous space that soars two stories high with a fully equipped kitchen and dining space that leads to the pool on both sides and up to the three double bedrooms and work space and media loft.
The pool sits at the edge of the deck, with a fully equipped yoga shala designed to capture the dreamy landscape and sunsets, with the Indian Ocean horizon spreading out ahead of you.
