A Lakeside Thatched Cottage in Normandy
This cottage was conceived as a complete escape, blending hotel-level comforts with the privacy of nature. Its design centers on the three-hectare lake, a private ecosystem for geese and ducks. The traditional thatched roof shelters a bright, open interior where every window frames the water.
The interiors prioritize warmth and function, with a fully equipped kitchen featuring three types of coffee makers and an honesty bar. A central chimney creates a cozy focal point in the living area. Entertainment is thoughtfully considered, from a Samsung projector with streaming services to a curated collection of board games, while a telescope invites guests to gaze at the stars.
The grounds are dominated by a private three-hectare pond, exclusively for guest use. The star attraction is the floating sauna on a pontoon, complete with an outdoor shower. Guests can explore the water in a small wooden boat, relax in the outdoor lounge, or prepare a meal on the barbecue. A Mölkky set is provided for lawn games.
What we love

A single, well-appointed bathroom serves the home. The main living space combines the kitchen, dining, and lounge areas. The garden and the private lake are just beyond the doorstep.
Experiences
On-site, guests can enjoy private use of a floating sauna, boating on the lake, or stargazing with the provided telescope. The home is equipped with yoga mats and a curated selection of games for adults and children.
