A Contemporary Clifftop Residence on Caponegro Bay
Sited on the captivating Caponegro cliff near the Baroque town of Noto, Cala Due is a two-building contemporary villa designed to host up to 12 guests. The home is built with an 11-meter pool overlooking the Ionian Sea, and its six en-suite bedrooms are split between the main house and an adjacent retreat. Surrounded by a lush Sicilian garden of olive trees and aromatic herbs, it's a secluded cultural base just minutes from Avola's coastal treasures.
Interiors are defined by a minimal elegance in light-filled spaces, with marble accents and unique, textured tapestries providing a sense of place and sophisticated design. Each of the six bedrooms includes an en-suite shower room.
The outdoor area is centered around an 11 x 3.5-meter pool. The decking provides a spacious solarium equipped with designer loungers, chairs, and cushions for enjoying cocktails until sunset. A seaview veranda offers an ideal spot for outdoor dinners. The vast garden is filled with the scent of olive trees and aromatic herbs, enhancing the connection to the Sicilian landscape.
What we love
The wide glass doors open up the living space to the veranda, letting in the scent of the aromatic herbs from the garden. The interiors feel grounded and authentic, mixing rattan and wood with glossy tiles rather than feeling staged. What really stands out, though, is the outdoor setup: the pool has incredible sea views, and the layout is wonderfully versatile, allowing you to easily gather as a group for sunset drinks or find a quiet corner entirely to yourself.
Layout
The villa is composed of two adjacent houses, sleeping up to 12 guests. Each building contains three double bedrooms, totaling six rooms with private en-suite shower rooms. The main front house is closest to the sea views and the pool terrace. The second house is set slightly behind for a peaceful retreat. Both buildings offer ground floor rooms that open to a private, shaded terrace, and first-floor rooms with terrace access.
Experiences
Guests can walk the private path from the garden down to the cliff and the turquoise-green waters for swimming. The villa also offers assistance with securing a rental car.
Good to know
The villa includes two separate buildings, which provides excellent privacy for groups. Access to the sea is via a charming path to a private gate leading to a tuff cliff, which may require careful footing. The nearest towns and most sandy beaches are best reached by car, which is essential for exploring the wider area.
