Set 56 meters above sea level, this modern three-story villa is perched to take advantage of the stunning views stretching for miles along the Cilento coast—from the mountains of Calabria on one side to the wild coastline of Punta Infreschi, between Scario and Marina di Camerota, on the other. Designed and built in the traditional southern Italian architectural style by renowned design engineer Alfonso De Nardo, its scale and size is ideal for large groups or families. Arranged over three partially self-contained levels, each with its own living space, the villa lets everyone spend time together, with privacy when they want it.

With five bedrooms, this spacious property can accommodate up to 14 guests (10 adults and four children). The large gourmet kitchen can serve guests inside or on the rustic taverna dining terrace with views out to sea. With ample outdoor spaces to enjoy, the property has multiple terraces, gardens and a large pool, all with beautiful views.

Layout

Ground floor: Large living/dining room with TV, open fireplace, library/study area, and French doors to a covered dining terrace. Well-equipped kitchen with French doors to the terrace and steps down to the covered dining terrace.

• Bedroom 1: queen bed, French doors to a covered panoramic terrace, sea view.

• Bedroom 2: double bed, garden view. Bedroom 3: queen bed (or twin configuration), garden view.

• Two shower rooms.

First floor (via external stairs): Large roof terrace with outdoor dining table and sunbathing area, sea view. Open-plan living/dining/kitchen area with dining table for four and French doors to a further large seaview terrace, plus a small rear terrace with mountain view.

• Bedroom 4: queen bed plus a single sofa bed for a child, French doors to a panoramic terrace, sea view.

• Shower room

• A double sofa bed in the living area provides additional bedding for children and teens.

Second floor/attic (via external stairs from the roof terrace): Open-plan living/dining/kitchen area with dining table for four and French doors to a sea-view balcony.

Grounds: Large, enclosed, terraced grounds. 12m x 6m pool (1.2m–2.2m deep). Covered ground-floor terrace with comfortable seating. Lower terrace with vine-covered pergola and a large Mediterranean oak providing extra shade. Covered dining terrace seating 14, with summer kitchen, built-in charcoal barbecue, and traditional Italian wood-fired pizza oven. Two further outdoor dining areas on the first floor.

Amenities & services

Housekeeping included, four hours a day (9am–1pm), six days a week. Bed linen changed weekly and bathroom linen twice a week. All utilities included in the rates. TV. Air conditioning in all bedrooms and living areas (except the kitchen). Ceiling fans in the ground-floor rooms. Private chef and additional services available. Cook service and waiter on request. Parking. There is an additional charge for beach towels (available to rent on site), winter heating, and firewood.

Experiences

Traditional local cuisine menu can be arranged with clients. Pizza chef and waiter for pizza parties. A private skippered boat can be arranged on request for tours to Palinuro, Porto Infreschi, Acquafredda, Scario or Maratea beaches where you can visit the many natural sea caves. Daily tours to Napoli, Pompei, Herculaneum, Matera are highly recommended. During summer months guests can reach the Amalfi Coast, Positano, Sorrento and the island of Capri by hydrofoil from Sapri harbor.

Good to know

The long sandy beach at Villammare is 700 meters from the villa, and the small marina and village center are less than a mile away on foot, though guests are advised to bring a car as the final stretch of road leading to the villa is steep. The pool is open from the end of April to the end of October. The tourist tax of the municipality of Vibonati (one euro per person per night during summer months; children up to 10 years old exempt) is payable on site upon arrival.

Villammare is an ancient fishing village at the foot of the extensive Cilento National Park, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Park takes in one of the most attractive strips of the Tyrrhenian coast swathed by the vivid colors of the Mediterranean flora. Long sandy beaches, a colorful seafront fringed with palms and eucalyptus trees, small restaurants, cozy venues and cottages make Villammare the perfect seaside resort for travelers from all over the world, in search of friendly and charming spots off the beaten track.
