A 1970s A-Frame among the Pines of Lake Arrowhead
This A-frame belongs to Lake Arrowhead's mid-century tradition: clean lines, warm wood, a full wall of glass. Owners Belle and Kevin kept the vaulted ceilings and let the architecture carry the rooms, then furnished them with vintage pieces collected over the years.
Inside, the main level is one open room: living and dining under the vaulted wood-beam ceiling, a stone fireplace, and a kitchen with a breakfast bar, a stainless-steel range, and a dishwasher. A reading and meditation nook faces east through the gable glass, where first light comes in low across the pines and lands on the chair. Upstairs, a balcony overlooks the living area through the tall windows. Downstairs, the game room holds an 85-inch television and a shelf of board games.
The deck wraps the cabin and steps down with the slope, so there is a place to sit in the sun and a place to sit in the shade. A grill stands ready for dinners outside. Beyond the rail the ground falls away into ponderosa pine, and the view is the same in every direction: forest, and more forest. A small meditation garden sits off the lower level, and there's an indoor sauna and out door hot tub.
Layout
This vacation home for rent in Lake Arrowhead, California sleeps up to six guests. Three bedrooms sit across two levels, with three bathrooms. The main-floor bedroom has a queen bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower-tub combination. Two more bedrooms share the top floor, one with a queen and one with a double, under their own vaulted ceilings, alongside a second full bathroom and a balcony over the living room. The game room and the decks occupy the lower and outer edges of the house.

Good to know
The Lake Arrowhead Association restricts docks, beaches, and lake trails to residents. Lake Gregory, about 15 minutes away, is the public alternative for swimming, with a day pass. There is central air conditioning. Guests are asked to handle the older furniture gently as much of it is irreplaceable. In snow season, tire chains are required for vehicles without four-wheel drive. No smoking. Dogs welcome (fenced yard). Bring your own firewood.

The Village, two miles away from the cabin, is the hub, with shops, restaurants, lake views, and the Arrowhead Queen tour boat. SkyPark at Santa's Village, about 10 minutes on, runs year-round across 230 acres, with 10 miles of mountain-bike trails, hiking, fly fishing, archery, ziplines, and seasonal ice skating on the old 1955 Santa's Village site. Lake Gregory, 15 minutes west, has a public swimming beach. Snow Valley, about 20 minutes east, handles winter skiing. Stone Creek Bistro in Blue Jay, 10 minutes away, is the table worth booking: Chef Sam Perry, trained under James Beard Award-winning chefs in Charleston and New Orleans, cooks Southern comfort food with a French accent.
