A Clifftop Nicoya Peninsula Architectural Villa Enclosed in Glass
Set within a 30-hectare private natural reserve run by a local family, this ultra-contemporary villa, dense with vegetation, its environs teeming with colorful tropical wildlife, is honed of concrete, glass, steel and stone. Designed by Victor Canas, the panoramic glass-enclosed property dominates Montezuma Bay, a Pacific beach immersed by jungle at the heart of the Nicoya Peninsula, a celebrated Blue Zone where residents are among the world’s longest living centenarians.
Three king-sized bedrooms enclosed in glass join four and half bathrooms and a strikingly contemporary, artful common area encompassing the dining, living room and kitchen. For groups of up to 12, the villa can be rented with the adjacent Casa Cocobolo, insulated by untouched jungle and also designed by Victor Canas.
Rising from the jungle vegetation, the villa’s outdoor areas combine wood decking and concrete and rock terraces with a private river and cascading water feature. There’s an infinity pool spilling towards the Pacific Ocean, a stunning spot with views of Montezuma Bay. And walls of windows all around create a true indoor-outdoor living pavilion in a healing oasis of vegetation, with expansive views that inspire and invigorate.
What we love
The house sits on a cliff and every room looks straight out at the Pacific. Silvia and Victor designed it that way, so there's no wall between you and the water. Montezuma has a Saturday market on the beach, produce and coffee, worth a morning if you get there.
Layout
Three bedrooms across two levels of a 500-square-meter house. The main living area (kitchen, dining room, living room) runs the full ocean-facing width of the ground floor. A retractable cinema screen drops from the living room ceiling. A hot tub sits on the terrace at the same elevation as the canopy. Every bedroom faces the Pacific.

Good to know
Casa Ceibo is air-conditioned throughout. Housekeeping is daily, Monday through Saturday. The access road into Entre Lomas is unpaved and requires a four-wheel-drive vehicle, but the concierge team can arrange transfers on request. The nearest airport is Tambor (TMU, 30 minutes). Alternatively, the Paquera ferry from Puntarenas connects to the Nicoya Peninsula and is roughly the same total travel time from San José. For groups of up to 12, Casa Ceibo can be reserved together with neighboring Casa Cocobolo.
Additional features
The outdoor area’s architectural waterway feature offers stepping stones and pathways through the water. There’s an on-site vegetable garden, playscape, and a guided walking trail from the home.
