Artistry in the Alentejo
Revealing the sensibility of its artist owner, Casa das Oliveiras is a study in silent design, located in the heart of Melides. The open-plan living area, centered around an olive tree, creates an intellectual and biophilic axis for the home.
The interior language is calm and thoughtful, featuring bespoke furnishings and tropical accents in the bathrooms. A dedicated playroom on the second floor with foosball and a large screen offers a playful counterpoint to the home’s meditative stillness.
The Mediterranean garden is planted with magnolia, lavender and ancient olive trees. A striking swimming pool (7m x 3m) sits at the center, flanked by sun-lounging areas and a south-west terrace. The rooftop terrace is the property’s crown, featuring an open fireplace and views spanning the hills to the sea.
What we love
We love the olive tree right in the middle of the kitchen, making the whole house feel like an extension of the garden. You can feel the owner’s artist background in the "silent design" of the rooms—it’s cozy and minimalist without feeling cold. This is the perfect place for those who appreciate design, nature, and the authentic rhythm of the Alentejo.
