Catskills Redux

One of a handful of distinctive properties realized by Brooklyn based artists, the duo lead the dynamic art residence Casa Wabi Foundation, founded as a multicultural, multidisciplinary art foundation for artists to find refuge, hone their crafts, and work together in an inspiring environment.

Facing its own lake, surrounded by lush green woodlands on over twenty-eight acres, this historic farmhouse is located in the Sullivan County region of the Catskills, just over two hours north of Manhattan. 

Built in the early 20th century, the clapboard and gabled construction is a romantic reminder of early American homesteads and a classic example of the area's rural architectural past.

Following extensive restorations, the property still retains the best of its original period charm and detail, with an airy and sunny open-plan ground floor, relaxing living and dining spaces, and a country kitchen with views of the lake.

The main house includes an en suite master bedroom and two additional double rooms designed with whimsical touches ideal for kids or the young at heart. The separate guest house includes two double bedrooms that sleep up to four guests. Cheerful touches mingle with mid-century modern furnishings, one-of-a-kind pieces, and welcoming warmth.

The property is perfect for lazy afternoons or adventure, where you can fire up the BBQ, go for a dip in the lake or the hot tub, play a little tennis, or wander down the trail right off of the house to explore.

SULLIVAN COUNTY 

Set in the small upstate New York town of Forestburgh, where time seems to have stopped in a lovely period of bygone Americana. The town is located in the heart of the Catskills in Sullivan County, a charming and rural outpost with lots of history and personality. 

Just under an hour to the historic and picturesque town of Narrowsburg, you’ll find many chic art galleries, antique shops, as well as some of the best upstate restaurants here. Perched above the Delaware River, the area is an ideal outdoor destination for skiing, hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, and kayaking including nearby Skinner Falls. And just a town over, discover Bethel Woods, home of the original Woodstock. 

New York City is two hours drive.
