With five spacious bedrooms and a huge outdoor living area, this colorful, contemporary vacation rental in Sayulita, Mexico, is ideal for large groups. It's also within a few minutes of both the center of town and the main beach, making it a great house for exploring this laid-back resort.
This large, colorful villa sits on top of a lush green hill in Sayulita, a three-minute walk from center of town and the main beach. Newly built, it combines the vibrant character of the region with an urban, contemporary sensibility. We love the mix of curved walls and windows, with the hard lines of the industrial concrete floors, and the bursts of bright color in the textiles, tiles and feature walls.
The bedrooms are elegantly simple, with minimal furnishing, brightly colored tiles that mimic headboards, en-suite bathrooms and private decks. Two of the rooms are under the palapa roof, which give them a wonderfully tropical feel.
Perhaps the most appealing feature of the house is the outdoor area. The house's living room is completely outdoors, with generous seating areas, a kitchen with large dining table, and a really striking curved and tiled swimming pool. It's the details that really bring it to life - the large spherical pendant lights and the latterns affixed to the purple kitchen wall, the water spouts cascading into the pool, and the suspended stairs that lead upwards into the main house.
This vacation rental in Sayulita sleeps ups to 11 guests. For larger groups, there is an adjacent property. Casa dos Chicos, with 4 bedrooms.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
The house has ceiling fans, a gourmet kitchen with gas stove and microwave, wifi, an mp3 player, books, table games, a barbecue, and a washer/dryer.
AROUND
Sayulita is a small town on the Riviera Nayarit, about 30 minutes north of the airport in Puerto Vallarta, reached via the lush foothills of the Sierra Madre.
Originally discovered by surfers who fell for its waves, it also became home to tourists wanting to get away from busier resorts. Today it's a laid-back beach town, free of chain hotels and restaurants, with cobbled streets, taco stands, fruit vendors, galleries and surf shops, as well as traditional Mexican craft boutiques.
Sayulita is known for its variety of sandy beaches, which are great for exploring. The nearby towns of Puerto Vallarta and San Pancho are worth day trips. Other recommended activities include surfing, whale watching (November to June), fishing, snorkelling, kayaking, horseback riding, trekking through the jungle, canopy tours, and mountain biking.
Located at the top of the "Gringo Hill" on the southern edge of Sayulita, the villa is a four-minute walk from the town and Playa Centro beach.
