Completed by its owners in 2024 after two years of re-crafting, this peaceful rural guesthouse offers modern conveniences in comforting, earth-toned interiors, with wide views of the Spanish hills and Lake Vinuela. It's also an easy drive from the white villages and beaches of Andalusia’s Costa del Sol.

Offering the best of both worlds—rural tranquility and easy access to the vibrant coastal scene—this modern built, two-story home’s ground floor is comprised of a four-person apartment and two-person studio for six, though also available by request, individually, as a smaller 4-person or 2-person accomodation.

The rustic charms continue outside, with covered outdoor spaces created for taking in the panoramas. A pool is located below the home, surrounded by sun loungers and parasols.

Additional information: The property is located on the ground floor of a larger villa. The owners live upstairs and are available in case any special needs arise.

Around

The house is located only two kilometers from Periana, a typical Andalusian village known for its excellent peaches and fine olive oil production. The town offers essential goods and services, with bakeries, shops and a handful of restaurants and bars.

Within 30 minutes’ drive, the coastal towns of Torre del Mar, Nerja and Torrox offer white sandy beaches, striking Mediterranean landscapes and unique waterfront experiences. Malaga is a bit further—about 50 minutes from the house. And the historic mountain town of Granada with its magnificent Alhambra is less than an hour and a half away.

Bikes and electric bicycles can be reserved for exploring the local Axarquia countryside. The La Viñuela reservoir is a vivid turquoise water, set in the shadow of La Maroma peak and surrounded by a handful of hamlets. There’s a lovely walk or bike path known as the Ruta del Agua around the reservoir. History buffs can hike to the Torre de l’Atalaya, a 15th-century Moorish watchtower, or the Castillo de Zalia, a Moorish castle ruin, both offering beautiful panoramas. And more serious hikers can trek up La Maroma mountain via trails varying in difficulty.

Axarquia is an ancient area that extends inland eastward from Malaga and the Mediterranean coast. Boasting Spain’s best climate, the area’s subtropical temperatures translate to orange trees and palm trees lining village streets, a Mediterranean lifestyle, and a setting in the shadow of multiple mountain ranges. Highlights of the region include Nerja, a former fishing village on a dramatic, cliff-lined slice of the Costa del Sol, with its landmark acoustic caves, Torrox, with a wealth of hiking options, and Torre del Mar, featuring never-ending sands and a vibrant beachfront promenade.
