A Colonia Roma Home Transformed
Colonia Roma’s second oldest home has been transformed by architect Elias Kalach of Vertebral, with H116 design studios. It’s now an elegant, eight-room hotel where private terraces, copper bathtubs, window seats, writing desks and minimalist earthen hues and textures merge to create a warm, timeless retreat offering respite and grounding calm in the heart of buzzing Mexico City.
A Colonial Roma Norte Retreat Transformed into Cozy, Contemporary Boutique Hotel
Located at the heart of Mexico City’s historical Roma Norte, this relaxed, eight-room hotel is housed in a meticulously restored original home. Conceived by VERTEBRAL and H116 studios and thoughtfully curated by ÑÚ, the serene, richly earthy space was created for those seeking a slower rhythm, surrounded by contemporary Mexican art and bespoke design. Stone, velvets, earth-toned plasters and rich woods create a warm, almost hushed tranquility in each of the rooms, and contemporary canvases pop off of organic walls. Each room feels like a private haven, a cozy space grounded by earth tones, natural textures and curated organic design elements.
