A traditional farming estate in the same family since the early 20th century, this rural retreat has been reimagined with a focus on rejuvenation and regeneration. With the architectural transformation led by Enter Arquitectura, the original buildings have been given a bright, refreshing makeover, and the spacious, barn-like properties are now dedicated to wellness and easygoing holidays with a focus on unwinding.

Set in a natural preserve, the pair of red-tile-roofed houses stand side by side, flanked by a huge pool, the larger house equipped with an infrared sauna and outdoor jacuzzi.

Soaring Mannaz, with its two-story, barn-like structure, sleeps 12 guests across six ensuite bedrooms. Each bedroom (both doubles and singles) has a terrace. Under its sharply pitched, exposed beam ceilings, the breezy, two-level home offers bright communal spaces for gathering, a fully-equipped kitchen with a long farm table and a light, airy, natural vibe throughout. The oversized, deep indigo-toned swimming pool is a must as is strolling the natural reserve and visiting the working permaculture garden, created in the same spirit of regeneration as the property’s renovation. Yoga materials (mats, bolsters, straps, blocks) are available for each of the 12 guests.

Kennaz is the perfect complement to Mannaz, and both properties can be rented with a third home on the property, Ansuz, to accommodate larger crowds. Kennaz is a smaller version of its sister homes, a 75sqm space offering two ensuite bedrooms for three guests. It benefits from a long, lean terrace with built-in sofa seating, and an open-plan, studio-styled living room/kitchen combination. Yoga equipment is provided for three, and the property stands next door to Mannaz, with its pool and outdoor jacuzzi. A 100-square-meter yoga deck is nestled in nature outdoors, and the property offers an on-site, by-reservation massage house. Optional services include customized catering/chef services, organic produce baskets, bike rental and a two-seater Rhino.

Located in Sesimbra, only a half hour south of Lisbon, the property’s rural location ensures a retreat from the urban and noisy, and daytrip possibilities are numerous. The nearest beach is 10 kilometers from the property, as is the nearest golf course, and shops/services are closer (5km), with a riding club in between (8km). Only five kilometers from the estate is the Lagoa de Albufeira, an area known for its bird watching and its picturesque lagoon that opens out on a beautiful Atlantic beach, the Praia da Lagoa de Albufeira. This protected beach is part of a greater 26-kilometer stretch of golden sand that forms the Costa da Caparica coastline. Kite surfing and windsurfing are popular sports in the sheltered lagoon, while the rolling surf on the open coastline draws surfers and more experienced kite surfers.
