Your Own Castle for a Week
A deeply romantic and enchanting place, with a quiet sophistication and old world elegance, the history and beauty of Tuscany comes alive here. We love the personalized attention to detail, sensitive restoration and devotion to the authentic culture (and food!) of the country. This is the place of Tuscan dreams...
Located on its own hilltop with stunning Tuscan countryside views, this ancient 12th-century castle embodies centuries of romance and history. Built in 1112, the careful renovation has restored the heart and soul of the place, skillfully incorporating subtle modern amenities while preserving the beautiful stone work, original wood beams, terracotta tiling and historical detail.
Redesigned as a nine-suite boutique hotel and residence, this graceful estate has been reimagined with simple luxuries and an informal elegance. Featuring an exotic fusion of classic hunting lodge, Indonesian and traditional antiques and decor collected from every corner of the globe, you’ll feel both the personal and ancient history here. Each of the suites is situated privately around the hillside and includes the atmospheric historic features and eclectic individual style.
Nine suites, nearly 40 hectares of grounds and an attentive staff make this historic estate the perfect setting for a family reunion, a once-in-a-lifetime holiday with friends, or an intimate destination wedding.
The property has five bedrooms in its main house and four in its garden suites that can be rented in two different blocks, and each of them with its own private infinity pool. All nine have en-suite bathrooms and several have features like private entrances, lounge areas, kitchenettes and terraces. In the main house, there are four bedrooms with king beds and one with a queen bed. The garden suites have four bedrooms with king beds.
The “cucina privato” restaurant serves amazing seasonal and organic food including wild game and wine from the property’s vast estate, served in the candlelit flower-filled courtyard in summer and by the fireside in winter.
A central component in the architectural restoration work, the gardens were partially created by designer Giuppi Pietromarchi. Lush and beautifully maintained, there is no clear demarcation where the gardens end and the stunning Tuscan landscape begins. The result is dramatic but in harmony and balance with the environment, with a multitude of scented flowers, centuries-old olive trees and lush lavender and jasmine. With one mosaic-tiled pool tucked away among the trees and another with stunning views of the countryside, each has been sensitively integrated into the surroundings and are inviting summer escapes.
Rich with timeless history and breathtaking natural beauty, this Tuscan castle is a rare treat. This property is also available for events through BoutiqueHomes.
