Handsome Contemporary Cabin
Standing tall, dark and handsome in the forest some 20 minutes from the heart of Asheville, this one-bedroom cabin makes for a romantic retreat for two, one of a collection of designer cabins in a 22-acre woods. A contemporary wood stove keeps it cozy indoors, and generous windows flood the high-ceilinged space with natural light. The cabin’s kitchen comes fully stocked with appliances, dishes and starter oils, condiments and spices, and there’s an on-property garden where you can cut your own herbs and veggies.
The modern cabin community features a designer pavilion shared by guests, with a comfortable lounge and outdoor fireplace, plus fire pits for all the woodsy campfire vibes. A chicken coop means breakfast eggs are there for the taking, and private hiking trails start at the cabin door, leading through the woods and into the clearings and along the bubbling brook.
Around
Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina, the cabins are close to the Blue Ridge Parkway Pisgah National Forest and Warren Wilson College. With artsy, culinary Asheville about 20 minutes away, the cabins offer the best of both worlds—immersion in the great outdoors and access to cultural, historical and hospitality destinations. Asheville’s dining scene is a creative mecca, with favorite restaurants ranging from a much-celebrated Spanish tapas bar to classic Southern cafes, to Indian, Italian and white-table Mexican spots. Breweries, wineries, and distilleries keep spirits high, along with a number of mixology-level cocktail bars. The Biltmore Estate has long drawn crowds, who come for its traditional, neatly manicured, luxe club vibe and generous gardens that host an annual bloom festival. The North Carolina Arboreteum is a great place to explore the wealth of regional flora, and the mountain city is full of outdoor recreation options, from hiking and mountain biking to mountain spring hopping and river rafting, fishing, rock climbing, horseback riding, golf facilities and tennis courts.
The area’s artistic heritage runs deep, with Black Mountain College an institution of avant-garde thought and expression since its founding. Mountain makers, crafters and folk artists carry on longstanding artisanal traditions, and there are dozens of contemporary art galleries and performance art venues, as well as the town's River Arts District, lined with studios, exhibition spaces and shops.
